Approximations for many-visits multiple traveling salesman problems

چکیده
A fundamental variant of the classical traveling salesman problem (TSP) is so-called multiple TSP (mTSP), where a set m salesmen jointly visit all cities from n cities. The mTSP models many important real-life applications, in particular for vehicle routing problems. An extensive survey by Bektas (Omega 34(3), 2006) lists variety heuristic and exact solution procedures that solve instances. In this work we consider further generalization mTSP, many-visits each city v has request r(v) how times it should be visited salesmen. This opens up new applications such as aircraft sequencing, while at same time poses several computational challenges. We provide polynomial-time algorithms variants compute constant-factor approximate solutions.

Traveling salesman path problems
In the traveling salesman path problem, we are given a set of cities, traveling costs between city pairs and fixed source and destination cities. The objective is to find a minimum cost path from the source to destination visiting all cities exactly once. In this paper, we study polyhedral and combinatorial properties of a variant we call the traveling salesman walk problem, in which the object...

متن کاملOn Labeled Traveling Salesman Problems
We consider labeled Traveling Salesman Problems, defined upon a complete graph of n vertices with colored edges. The objective is to find a tour of maximum (or minimum) number of colors. We derive results regarding hardness of approximation, and analyze approximation algorithms for both versions of the problem. For the maximization version we give a 1 2 -approximation algorithm and show that it...
متن کاملMulti-Criteria Traveling Salesman Problems
In multi-criteria optimization problems, several objective functions have to be optimized. Since the different objective functions are usually in conflict with each other, one cannot consider only one particular solution as the optimal solution. Instead, the aim is to compute a so-called Pareto curve of solutions. Since Pareto curves cannot be computed efficiently in general, we have to be cont...
متن کاملTraveling Salesman Problems with Profits
T salesman problems with profits (TSPs with profits) are a generalization of the traveling salesman problem (TSP), where it is not necessary to visit all vertices. A profit is associated with each vertex. The overall goal is the simultaneous optimization of the collected profit and the travel costs. These two optimization criteria appear either in the objective function or as a constraint. In t...
